I am a book artist, printmaker, and papermaker with a background in environmental anthropology and non-profits. I received an MFA in Book Arts from The University of Alabama in 2020, where I focused on letterpress printing, papermaking, and fine bookbinding. My book work has been exhibited nationally and is held in numerous special and private collections. My work is inspired by the slow, quiet reality that I encounter in wild places and natural processes. Slowing down, engaging fully with my materials, and spending time outdoors allows me to think deeply about how we, as humans, connect with nature. I use a variety of texts, on-site research, and interviews to explore the visible and invisible layers of meaning embedded in natural systems and the human activities that relate to them. My process is informed and expanded through collaboration, research on culture and ecology, and papermaking traditions in other parts of the world.
