Abstract
This paper takes a look at the many roles a father can play in a child's life; more specifically looking at the effects a missing father can have on a child and how this might effect the child's ability to love. Further, generational curses can be established in which a father's love is seen as to provide physically instead of emotionally. My hope is to flesh out why a father feels the need to love in this manner, and how one might go about breaking this curse in order to become an emotionally available father.
