Historic documentation of life at the turn of the 19th century created by residents of Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1901 for the citizens of 2001. Under the direction of Louis R. Ehrich, a prominent 19th century businessman, the items were sealed in a chest which was stored in various buildings on the Colorado College campus until the official opening January 1, 2001 at the Charles Leaming Tutt Library. Contents of Ms349, Fd 88, Cynthia Jones Davenport include: 1 3-page, handwritten note, dated August 5, 1901, addressed "To my dear great great grand children, the descendants of my daughter Rose Davenport and her husband, Abraham Van Vechten of Albany," signed by Cynthia Jones Davenport; 2 printed certificates of membership in the Colorado Springs Red Cross for Mrs. C. M. Davenport and Mrs. Abraham Van Vechten; 1 printed receipt for membership of Mrs. Davenport in the Colorado Springs Day Nursery Association; 2 calling cards, "Mrs. Abraham Van Vechten" and "Mrs. Davenport"; 1 b&w tintype "Benjamin Davenport Van Vechten, age 6 yrs."; 6 U. S. coins: 2 one-cent dated 1865 and 1892, 2 dimes dated 1877 and 1887, 2 quarters dated 1876 and 1900.
