Historic documentation of life at the turn of the 19th century created by residents of Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1901 for the citizens of 2001. Under the direction of Louis R. Ehrich, a prominent 19th century businessman, the items were sealed in a chest which was stored in various buildings on the Colorado College campus until the official opening January 1, 2001 at the Charles Leaming Tutt Library. Railway, Colorado"; 1 printed card "Colorado Wild Flowers" containing a pressed columbine flower; 1 printed brochure announcing the opening of the Colorado Springs & Cripple Creek District Railway, Monday April 8, 1901; 1 paperbound copy of "The Short Line Blue Book: A Handbook for Travelers," dated August 1901; 1 printed copy of the "Statement of Condition" of the First National Bank of Colorado Springs; 1 12-page, typewritten letter, dated August 4, 1901, signed by Irving Howbert "Reminiscences connected with early life in Colorado", by Irving Howbert."
