The purpose of this text is to help guide the Colorado College students and faculty in their common endeavor to understand modern Russia. Inspired by the Cultural Literacy approach, this Guide introduces the students to the basics of the contemporary Russian language as part of a broader Russian cultural code. The Guide provides culturally appropriate and thought-provoking activities, leading the diligent learner to the threshold of the Intermediate level of the language proficiency.
