Professor Jane Cauvel was born January 25, 1930. She grew up in Walla Walla, Washington, and obtained her undergraduate degree at Washington State University in 1951. She went on to earn a master's degree in philosophy at the University of Hawaii in 1953 and a PhD at Bryn Mawr College in 1962. Hired at Colorado College in 1960, she retired in 1995. More than a decade later, 2010 to 2012, she returned to college service as Ombuds person.
