Abstract
This thesis consists of an EP and analytical music paper. The songs surround my personal experience with using the creative process to explore my grieving process. The paper is an analysis of Tyler, the Creator tracks. The goal of the analysis is to show how shifts in perspective and perception about the relationship between Tyler, the Creator and his father can be reflected through the production, song structure, and lyrics of three tracks that he released over a 15 year time period.
